No-Limit Texas Hold’em Poker- Who is Phil Ivey?
October 29th, 2019 by Mason

Phil Ivey has been referred to as the best poker competitor on the planet by most of the top professionals. Phil Ivey was born in Riverside, CA and moved to NJ before reaching turning 1. His papa taught Phil one cent-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From that point on, he was hooked on poker and wished to learn every little thing he possibly could about poker. He routinely told his elders that he wanted to be a professional poker player. Phil didn’t let the detrimental feedback from others annihilate his ambition of becoming one of the strongest poker players in the world.

He began competing intently after getting a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his abilities at the poker rooms in Atlantic City. The first few years for him were a teaching experience and winning wasn’t a normal outcome at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker when he made two final tables and came away with his 1st WSOP bracelet, in a $2, 500 Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he defeated a number of the better known professionals including "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his game to the successive level and moved out west to Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Phil credits his achievements to hard work and an immeasurable love for poker. Phil says that he’s learning every single day and is quite abashed about his success. Phil knows he makes mistakes in each game of poker and always strives to get better.

Despite the fact that Ivey has come first in some big tournaments, he likes winning money games on a regular basis.
