August 1st, 2020 by Mason

Phil Ivey has been branded as the greatest poker competitor on the planet by most of the top-ranked pros. Phil was born in Riverside, CA and relocated to Jersey before his first birthday. His grandfather introduced him to penny-ante Five-Card Stud poker. From then on on, he was hooked on poker and wanted to discover anything he could about poker. Phil routinely told his elders that he was going to be a professional poker player. He did not permit the adverse feedback from other people annihilate his dream of being one of the best poker players in the world.

Phil began competing intently after acquiring a fake ID with the name of Jerome. He practiced his game at the casinos in Atlantic City. The initial few years for him were a learning period and coming away with a win wasn’t a normal thing at the time. Phil made his mark at the 2000 World Series of Poker where he achieved two final tables and won his 1st World Series of Poker bracelet, in a $2, five hundred Pot-Limit Omaha game. At the last table he destroyed a number of the better known professionals which includes "Amarillo Slim" Preston, David "Devilfish" Ulliot, and Phil Hellmuth, Jr.

He decided to take his skills to the successive level and moved out west to Las Vegas. He continues to compete in in "The Big Game" at the Bellagio with the best players in the world. Ivey credits his achievements to dedication and an immeasurable passion for poker. He says that he is picking up skills every single day and is very humble about his success. Phil knows he makes blunders every single session of poker and constantly aspires to improve.

Despite the fact that Phil has won some big-time tournaments, he prefers destroying cash games on a normal basis.
