Caribbean Poker Rules and Tricks
April 8th, 2023 by Mason

Poker has become globally celebrated recently, with televised competitions and celebrity poker game events. The games popularity, though, stretches back quite a bit further than its TV scores. Over the years many variations on the earliest poker game have been created, including some games that are not quite poker anymore. Caribbean stud poker is 1 of these particular games. Despite the name, Caribbean stud poker is more closely affiliated with 21 than old guard poker, in that the players wager against the dealer instead of each other. The succeeding hands, are the established poker hands. There is little bluffing or other types of deception. In Caribbean stud poker, you are expected to ante up just before the croupier broadcasting "No further bets." At that point, both you and the casino and of course all of the different players acquire five cards. Once you have looked at your hand and the dealer’s initial card, you need to in turn make a call bet or give up. The call wager’s value is equal to your beginning bet, which means that the stakes will have doubled. Abandoning means that your ante goes instantly to the house. After the bet is the showdown. If the bank doesn’t have ace/king or better, your bet is given back, including a figure in accordance with the ante. If the house has a hand with ace/king or greater, you succeed if your hand beats the dealer’s hand. The house pays money even with your wager and set expectations on your call bet. These expectations are:

  • Even for a pair or high card
  • two to one for 2 pairs
  • three to one for three of a kind
  • 4-1 for a straight
  • five to one for a flush
  • seven to one for a full house
  • 20-1 for a 4 of a kind
  • fifty to one for a straight flush
  • 100-1 for a royal flush
